How does the blurring work?
The tool scales your image down to a small fraction of its original size, then enlarges it back using nearest-neighbor interpolation. This destroys fine details like faces. A low JPEG quality export adds further compression noise.
How do I explore all parts of the blurred image?
Scroll (or use the slider) to zoom in, then click and drag to pan around the image. On mobile, use two fingers to pinch-zoom and one finger to drag.
Is my photo sent to any server?
No. Everything runs in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your photo never leaves your device.
What settings give the best privacy protection?
Set Pixelation Strength to 5–10% and JPEG Quality to 5–15%. Faces will be completely unrecognizable even at 3× zoom.
What file formats can I upload?
