📚 Critical Reading & Writing Practice

Go beyond simple summaries. Practice questioning the author's claims, finding logical loopholes, and expanding into 1-page critiques.

Build Critical Thinking Habits with Engaging Scenarios

This app is redesigned for reading, critical analysis, and writing training, inspired by the structural style of the Steel-manning training app.

🎯 What you will train in this app

✅ Critical Reading
Reading while questioning the author's claims, evidence, premises, generalizations, and missing counterexamples.
❌ Simple Summary
Merely summarizing what was said without asking why it is valid or flawed.

Choose the most appropriate critical question in each scenario, and save a short draft of your critique right below.

Develop the habit of asking whether you agree with the author's logic and expanding the shortcomings into a one-page critique.

🧰 Basic Critique Framework

1. Author's Core Claim

What are they arguing? Write the concluding sentence in one line.

2. Evidence and Premises

What examples, data, and assumptions are used? Is the evidence sufficient?

3. Critique and Supplement

Point out exaggerations, generalizations, missing counterexamples, lack of alternatives, emotional appeals, and propose a more persuasive direction.
